East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure Launches New Craft Cafe
East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure has announced the launch of a brand-new adult art class this month.

Craft Cafe, hosted at Eastwood House, will offer participants the chance to try out a range of different activities, including sewing, crochet, jewellery making, decoupage and more. Sessions will be led by an expert tutor, starting on 22 April and running weekly to 17 June. No experience is required and all materials are provided.
The craft cafe is the latest art offering available from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, who offer a variety of creative classes, from painting for beginners and print making to watercolours, drawing and painting, hosted at venues across East Renfrewshire. As well as developing new skills, art classes can help to reduce stress and improve mental health, spark the imagination and creativity, improving memory and help participants to have fun and expand their social circle.
Andrew Wilson, who worked as a high school arts teacher for five years before moving into community arts and now leads adult and children's art classes, said: “Our adult arts sessions are designed to be welcoming and supportive and help you to develop new skills. We encourage attendees to let us know if there is something they would like to try and to develop their own style and area of interest as they develop and grow in confidence.”
Kids art classes are also on offer throughout the year, from Mini Artists' Class and Digital Art and Animation, Makers and Creators, Arts and Craft classes hosted at various locations across East Renfrewshire.
Visual arts tutor Martin Grimes added: “Arts classes build skills and confidence. In our kids' classes, we practice a variety of techniques. Children can enjoy being creative, come along with siblings or on their own, and make new friends.”
