The impressive lineup includes singer Aled Jones, who will bring his Full Circle show to Eastwood Park Theatre in April, featuring never-before-heard music, tales from the decades and, for the first time, his story in his own words. The theatre will also present an intimate evening with singer/songwriter John Power, who played bass in The La's, formed Cast and secured two platinum selling records before pursuing a solo career. The show mixes John's best-love songs with wild, funny and tender stories. Queen of the West End, Kerry Ellis, who has starred in musical theatre's biggest roles from My Fair Lady to We Will Rock You and Wicked, will take centre stage to look back on her illustrious career in September.
The theatre has lined up a series of comedy shows next month, including A Scottish Comedy Collective, a sensational night of live stand-up comedy with a line up comprising Amy Matthews, Rosco McClelland, Jo Caufield and Mark Nelson. The Big Comedy Roadshow, hosted by Laura Lexx, featuring the best live stand-up comedy from TV names you know and love, including Jen Brister, Sara Barron, Jay Lafferty and Scott Agnew, also takes to the stage. Still Game stars Mark Cox and Jane McCary will feature in an up close and personal show, while one of Scotland's best-known comedy actors, Karen Dunbar, brings her Stand Up Tour to Eastwood Park Theatre in May.
Live music is lined up throughout the first half of the year, with outstanding tribute acts including Ben Thompson Live as Elvis and Jimi Hendrix - The Legend Lives On in March. The Mumford and Sons Story and The Shakin' Stevens Story feature in April, Just Beatles in May, the Power of Celine in June and Bee Gees tribute show Jive Talkin' in July.
The theatre will present the UK's "hardest swinging band" Down for The Count All-Stars in April. Diana and Lionel's Endless Love show, starring a sensational cast, incredible vocals and a stellar live band, will celebrate Diana Ross and Lionel Richie in June. As We Were: The History of Oasis and Beyond will explore the rise, the rift and the reunion of Oasis and the Gallagher brothers in June. Ireland's no.1 folk n roll band Keltic Storm will present The Ultimate Irish Hooley at the theatre at the end of July.
Catering for the kids, the critically-acclaimed production of The Very Hungry Caterpillar show, a vibrant celebration of Eric Carle's adored classic book, will be presented in March. Following the success of his CBeebies show, Nick Cope, who has been writing and recording unique songs for children and their families for 10 years, will bring his show I've Lost My Bobble Hat to the theatre at the beginning of April and you can also embark upon an incredible adventure into the world of science with The Magical Mr West, who brings Crafty Fools: Adventures in Science to the stage during the Easter school break.
Eastwood Park Theatre has also lined up a series of captivating cinema screenings from National Theatre Live, including The Importance of Being Earnest in February and Dr. Strangelove in March. The Royal Ballet and Opera will present Romeo and Juliet, Turandot, Die Walkure and Ballet to Broadway: Wheeldon Works. Big screen musicals are lined up for March, including Jesus Christ Superstar and Billy Elliot the Musical.
