Eastwood Park Theatre celebrates Golden Anniversary with Summer of 73 Celebration
East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure is rewinding the clock to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary, with a golden weekend of events inspired by the year Eastwood Park Theatre opened.

'The Summer of 73' takes place on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 July, featuring arts and crafts workshops, dance classes, face painting and indoor and outdoor theatre performances . There will also be a massive 5-0 outdoor art piece that participants are encouraged to help decorate.
Moira McFadden, Head of Arts at East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, said: “We're taking a trip down memory lane with The Summer of 73, capturing the spirit of the seventies with music, art and theatre.
“Eastwood Park Theatre has been a huge part of our local community since opening its doors in 1973 so we're extending an invitation to everyone to come along and join in the fun. There is a range of free events and activities, with something for everyone to enjoy, plus a sensational seventies T Rex tribute show at Eastwood Park Theatre which is not to be missed.”
Events include a Jump, Jiggle and Giggle baby and toddler session, Jungle Boogie Kids Dance Class, Mini's Art Workshop and Kids' Art Workshop, Dance and Move Kids and Adult Workshop.
The seventies show capturing the rock sound of Marc Bolan and T Rex comes to Eastwood Park Theatre on 29 July as part of the celebrations, while outdoor theatre performance The Good, The Bad and The Poultry is back by popular demand on 30 July.
Sip, Snack and a Song, an adult singing workshop featuring beloved 70s hits, takes place at the Eastwood House Ballroom on 30 July and free outdoor portraiture workshops for adults, led by an expert tutor, take place across the weekend at Eastwood Park.
Free swim sessions will also be available during public swimming times at Eastwood Park Leisure Centre across the weekend.
