Kirsten shone the spotlight on Eastwood Park Theatre earlier this year, tabling an Early Day Motion in Parliament to celebrate the theatre's 50th anniversary. The MP for East Renfrewshire met with Chief Executive Anthony McReavy and theatre staff to present a copy of the motion, which recognised the enjoyment, arts and culture the theatre has brought to the local area since opening its doors in 1973.
Eastwood Park Theatre was also praised for its work to make the theatre accessible and inclusive, while the staff were commended for the great service they provide.
Kirsten Oswald MP for East Renfrewshire said: “It was great to visit Eastwood Park Theatre to have a tour and present the Early Day Motion I laid down at Westminster congratulating all those involved in a fantastic half-century of successes and memories.
“I've visited Eastwood Park Theatre for all kinds of events so I know first-hand what a brilliant venue it is. I wish everyone involved with the Theatre the very best for the future.”
Anthony McReavy from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Kirsten Oswald MP to Eastwood Park Theatre and to receive a copy of the Early Day Motion, which recognises the theatre's success in reaching this major milestone and the team's continued commitment to bringing quality performances to the local area.
“We provided a tour of the theatre and backstage area, highlighting our recent visits from stars including Lulu, Paul Young and Marti Pellow, and discussed our fantastic programme of forthcoming shows and events to continue our 50th anniversary celebrations throughout the year.”
Eastwood Park Theatre 50th anniversary programme continues throughout the year, with a wide range of live music, comedy, drama, kids' shows, tribute acts, performances and screenings on offer.
