The in-store campaign will launch on Thursday (13th October) showcasing 24 craft beers from artisan breweries across Scotland, with prices starting from just £1.49.
Two beers from Kelburn Brewing’s selection of brews join as exclusives to Aldi’s line-up, which includes everything from pumpkin spiced ales to raspberry sours, alongside eight other Scottish craft breweries in deals worth over £77,000.
Kelburn Brewing, a family-run, traditional brewery, was founded by Derek Moore, a former teacher, in 2001. Combining his love of beer with the knowledge of the brewing process he had developed during a science degree, he turned his hand to home brewing.
With a focus on quality, the team at Kelburn Brewing sources the finest ingredients to use in their beers, which is reflected in the finished product.
Kelburn Brewing’s Jaguar (330ml, 4.5% ABV, £1.49) and Goldihops (330ml, 3.8%, £1.49) golden ales will feature as exclusives to Aldi Scotland in this year’s Winter Beer Festival. One of the brewery’s best-sellers, Jaguar is a golden, full bodied ale with undertones of grapefruit and a long lasting citrus, hoppy aftertaste.
Goldihops, a golden, hoppy, ale, is clean on the palate, and is the result of years of Derek’s quest to find the perfect pint. The beer is easy-drinking and its light taste can be savoured with every sip.
Derek Moore, Founder and Director, Kelburn Brewing Company, said: “I am so pleased that two of our golden ales will be on Aldi’s shelves across Scotland. My family have a real passion for brewing traditional beers, so this is a proud moment. From humble home brewing beginnings to being stocked at such a well-known retailer, I look forward to hearing what Aldi’s customers think of our beers.”
Graham Nicolson, Group Buying Director, Aldi Scotland, said: “Kelburn Brewery is known for its award-winning beers, so I’m really pleased to have two of their golden ales on Aldi’s shelves for this year’s Winter Beer Festival. The Kelburn team echo Aldi’s commitment to quality, and I’m sure our customers will enjoy the chance to sample their brews.”
Aldi was crowned UK’s cheapest supermarket in 2021 by consumer champion Which? and has been named as the cheapest UK supermarket for June, July, August and September 2022 by the same consumer champions. Aldi guarantees some of the most competitive pricing on Scottish food and drink, while still retaining the highest quality in its products.
Celebrating the 10th year of Scottish Beer Festivals, products will be available in store from 13th October. Visit aldi.co.uk/scottishbeerfestival to find out more.
