The theatre and arts festival will be based around Eastwood Park Theatre. The line up includes a pre-school music gig, Mary Poppins musical theatre workshop and activities, Archie from the Singing Kettle in Tartan Tales, highly acclaimed kids' theatre productions, magic family films and two kids' ceilidhs.

With something for all ages, the festival will take place from 4-7 July with a mix of weekday and weekend activities, before the hugely-popular summer camps sessions start.

Anthony McReavy from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure said: “We are celebrating the start of summer with our first Family Festival, before our summer clubs and camps kick off.

“We have lots of treats in store, from Singing Kettle star Artie Trezise taking us through his Tartan Tales to eco-friendly Scottish theatre company’s The Whirlybird, which draws inspiration from the natural world to celebrate diversity and uniqueness in a captivating children’s show.

“We have Musical Theatre Director Karen E. Moir providing a Mary Poppins’ themed musical theatre workshop and we’re also showing Mary Poppins Returns on our brand new cinema screen, as well as family favourites The Goonies and Labyrinth.

“Sprog Rock, a fully interactive music gig for all ages, especially pre-schoolers and their grown ups, will take place on the last day of the festival, Sunday 7 July at 11am and 2pm.

“We’ll also be hosting two family ceilidhs so you can clap, skip and march together to traditional Scottish music which will be great fun for all generations.

“The fun will continue for kids all summer long, as we have also lined up a packed programme of activities for pre-schoolers to teens, from art and drama camps to sports camps and classes.”

This year's Summer Programme features a Play in a Week, aimed at ages 5-12 which will allow the kids to learn a variety of performance skills, working with an experienced drama tutor to come up with creative ideas, devise a new play and perform to an audience, while budding artists will love the week-long World of Art Camp adventure.

There are also several sports camps and sessions, from football and gymnastics to athletics and netball. Plus, Create and Splash sessions where kids can enjoy an hour-long arts and crafts session and then jump in the pool for an hour of aqua activities, including SwimFilm and SwimTails.

Family Festival tickets are available now and can be booked online at eastwoodparktheatre.co.uk. Summer holiday programme places are filling fast and can be booked at www.ercultureandleisure.org/summer. Tickets and places can also be booked through the box office on 0141 577 3008.
