Celebrate the start of the school holidays in style with two pop-tastic shows from the Little Mix Experience, bringing the songs of the biggest girl band to Giffnock on 29 March.
Eastwood Park is proud to present part of this year’s hugely popular Puppet Animation Festival, with shows and activities popping up before and during the Easter break. Join us for The Steadfast Tin Soldier on Sunday 25 March for the tale of a one-legged soldier who fell in love with a paper dancer while The Wonderful World of Lapin show on Sunday 1 April is narrated in English with puppets speaking simple French sentences. Head along for hand puppet workshops and get the family together for films James and the Giant Peach and Wallace and Gromit on the big screen.
The Scottish Theatre Producers presents Grandad and Me on 31 March, a show that has received rave reviews and focuses on loss, longing and the treasures of memory and imagination. An accompanying 90-minute workshop is also available the same day, with limited spaces.
A free taster teen drama workshop for 12-16 year olds, hosted by tutor Corrie McKendrick from the Royal Conservatoire Scotland and Scottish Youth Theatre, will take central stage on the last day of the Easter break at the Carmichael Hall.
Tutor Corrie said: “I’m really excited that we are looking to engage a new group of young people with theatre in the East Renfrewshire area, as part of its Easter Week activities.
“I think it’s really important that everyone has access to a creative outlet, whatever that may be, and drama offers so much. It can be fun or about making people laugh, it can be a way of telling stories or finding answers and it can also be a career path, a way to build confidence, make new friends or fill up spare time.
“I’d encourage any teenager who is interested to come along.”
Limited to 16 spaces, the teen drama taster class will take place on Friday 13 April from 6-7.30pm and participants can then sign up for Teen Drama classes, starting on 23 April at Thorntree Hall in Thornliebank. The six-week teen drama term costs £43.20 or £21.60 concession, running Monday 23 April – Monday 11 June (excluding May bank holidays on 7 and 28 May).
Book your free drama for teens taster class and reserve your space on the drama course now by calling 0141 577 4956.
