Neilston Leisure Centre gets official opening
Neilston Leisure Centre is officially back open for business. The popular facility has reopened after a £350,000 refurbishment.

And a special ribbon-cutting ceremony has been held to mark the occasion.
Dozens of children also joined in a free fun swim session in the pool. Free swimming was on offer all week to celebrate the reopening.
The leisure centre closed in 2012 due to concerns over the pool circulation systems and general maintenance of the building.
East Renfrewshire Council then earmarked £350,000 to carry out the substantial replacement and repair works needed.
Work is now complete and the centre is back fully open.
To celebrate, convener for community services and community safety, Councillor Mary Montague, cut a ribbon at the entrance to the building.
She was joined by Neilston’s four ward councillors and members of the centre’s Customer Focus Group.
It took place during the first fun swim session since the reopening, which was hugely popular and saw the pool packed with young swimmers.
Councillor Montague said: “It’s great to see Neilston Leisure Centre available to the people of the village once again.
“We know how popular it is with local residents and how much they missed it while the work was going on.
“That’s why we made sure the investment required for the improvements was identified and work got under way as quickly as possible.
“I was delighted to see so many children enjoying the free swimming. We wanted to thank the people of Neilston for their patience, which is why we offered free swimming for the week.”
