The bowling club was originally formed in 1921 as part of the English Sewing Company workers' recreation club. The original bowling green was situated at Cowden Hall.

The present bowling green was opened in 1959 and in the 1990's the Club and the Green were purchased by the Members and a Members lounge was built.

Crofthead Bowling Club is an equal membership club split into 3 sections (Gents, Ladies and Juniors) which currently has around 100 members.

Crofthead Bowling Club are always looking for new members so why not pop along and pick up an application form.
