After travelling together by ferry from Ardrossan (or meet us at Brodick on the Isle of Arran), this guided hill walk will take us through scenic Glen Rosa and up to some of the craggy peaks above from where the views are jaw dropping!
Key information:
- Start/finish: meet in Ardrossan to get the 9.45am ferry, back no later than 7pm. Or meet in Brodick. Full itinerary provided ahead of the walk.
- Walking duration: 7 hours (with breaks)
- Ascent: 1000m approx
- Distance: 14 km/8.5 miles
- Terrain: Rough bouldery paths, some boggy and wet sections, and walking over boulders and uneven ground
What to expect:
This is a longer day in the mountains for those who have some (but not necessarily lots of) experience of hill walking and are comfortable walking for up to 7 hours on rocky and rough paths, with lots of uphill and downhill. The final route will be determined by the weather conditions but you can expect rough bouldery paths, some boggy, wet sections, and walking over boulders, and unique views of Arran's moutains, glens, and the sea and land around this gem of an island.
Timings allow for lots of breaks to eat, drink and to take photographs.
If you're not sure if this walk is for you, please get in touch.
About your guide:
The walk will be guided by experienced and qualified guide Gaby Macbeth of Skylark Guiding Ltd. Gaby will take care of route finding and navigation (which is especially important if visibility is low) and will be carrying an emergency shelter and first aid kit. For more information about Gaby's qualifications and experience, and previous participants reviews please visit the website.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
