Following several years of investment and development from the National Trust for Scotland, the fairy-tale castle is ready for a busy summer of adventures, with a new interactive visitor experience.
As part of the revamp, the National Trust for Scotland has taken a new, fresh approach to telling the rich stories of the castle, giving visitors a glimpse back to its past. Telling the stories of the Hamilton family who once lived in the castle, the property is packed with fun activities bringing the Victorian era to life.
Exhibits include a Victorian arcade where some of the period’s most popular arcade games have been recreated and are fully playable for families to enjoy.
Several rooms now feature sights and sounds which demonstrate how the Hamilton’s once lived in the castle - including the lively music played in the drawing room. While touring the castle, visitors will also be accompanied by a different narration in each room, explaining the history in a fun and interactive way.
The castle’s treasure trove of period furniture, silverware, porcelain, paintings and sporting trophies have also returned for visitors to enjoy.
With a stunning backdrop of the natural beauty of Goatfell, there’s more to Brodick Castle than its mesmerising interior. The grounds offer stunning woodland walks, fantastic views and new highlights such as the new Isle Be Wild adventure play park and the new sparkling charm of the Silver Garden Trail.
Getting to Arran is easy via Calmac Ferries from Ardrossan. Families can enjoy a day trip to the island or there is wealth of hotels and guest houses for a short break.
