Families can enjoy a packed itinerary of adventures this Easter holidays and make some huge savings thanks to ScotRail’s amazing ‘Kids Go Free’ ticket, offering free child travel and discounted attraction entry across Scotland.
Purchase of ScotRail’s ‘Kids Go Free’ ticket allows two children aged 5-15 to travel off-peak, any day of the week, anywhere in Scotland for free, with each adult. Those travelling on a ‘Kids Go Free’ ticket are also entitled to one free child entry at a number of incredible attractions around the country.
Attractions participating in the ScotRail ‘Kids Go Free’ offer span the length and breadth of the country with something to suit all ages and interests. In the north, families can get interactive by visiting Aberdeen’s Satrosphere science centre, or become buccaneers for the day aboard Dundee’s iconic Discovery ship.
In the east, you can go on an animal adventure at Edinburgh Zoo or get gruesome at Edinburgh Dungeons. Over in the west, you can discover an amazing underwater world at Loch Lomond Sea Life Aquarium or test out your skills on the Snow Factor slopes at Soar at Intu Braehead.
There are several participating partners further afield for those keen to get out of the city. Travellers can explore Abbotsford House, home of Sir Walter Scott in the Borders or meet Walker the Polar Bear at The Highland Wildlife Park in the Cairngorms National Park.
The Kids Go Free ticket is a return and is available all year round. Tickets can be purchased online, from a ticket vending machine or from any staffed station.
Cathy Craig from ScotRail said: “Our Kids Go Free ticket provides families with an affordable fun day out. Not only do kids aged 5-15 travel free, entry to 24 top attractions around Scotland offer discounted entry as part of the package.
“The Easter holidays are the perfect time to enjoy a Scottish staycation and experience some of the great things to do around the country. Travelling on Kids Go Free tickets allows families to travel on off-peak services around the country and gives a much-needed chance to sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery en route without the worry of traffic.
“We look forward to welcoming more families on our services and would encourage passengers to reap the benefits of the Kids Go Free ticket.”
