Work EastRen, the Council’s employability services, JobCentre Plus and Skills Development Scotland are holding a Jobs and Employability Event on Sunday 22 May 2016, between 11am and 3pm at Barrhead Foundry, Barrhead.
There will be a range of employability providers from the area in attendance who can provide you with the support and assistance you need to get a job. Also in attendance will be a wide range of businesses who will have vacancies that may be of interest to you. Current vacancies exist at; Barrhead Travel, Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), SP Energy Network (Scottish Power), Norwood Care Home (BUPA), the Army, Aldi and Greene King/Hungry Horse Restaurant opening soon at Greenlaw, Newton Mearns.
If you live in East Renfrewshire and are looking for support to enter employment, training or education, Work EastRen, East Renfrewshire Council’s employability services can help. Located at Barrhead Foundry, a dedicated team are on hand to support and guide you into a job.
A range of support services are available to guide you through the recruitment process including:
• job searching and employment events
• CV, job application and interview preparation
• identifying relevant training opportunities
• in-work support to sustain employment
• assistance to overcome barriers and issues to entering employment
• access to job alerts, job matching and job brokerage
The team also provides a range of services to local businesses to help meet their business needs. This includes information and advice on recruitment incentives, work experience and placement opportunities, a vacancy and aftercare service to assist businesses with their recruitment needs, access to funding and a general business advice and support function.
Convener for infrastructure and sustainable growth Cllr Tony Buchanan, commented: “The Work EastRen team offers vital support and opportunities to all residents of East Renfrewshire who are able to and want to secure and sustain meaningful work.
“By taking a proactive approach to working with businesses and partner organisations, the team maximise opportunities for guiding people into jobs.
