The Scots tennis ace thrilled the nation when he made history on Centre Court on Sunday.
Now aspiring stars have been flocking to East Renfrewshire’s newest courts to try out the sport.
They have been taking advantage of the £82,000 courts at Cowan Park in Barrhead to hone their skills.
The courts opened last month and immediately proved a smash hit.
Since the start of Wimbledon, interest in the sport has grown but Andy Murray’s straight sets win over Novak Djokovic in the final has seen the courts packed out.
Now East Renfrewshire Council is reminding people that tennis coaching for children is available at the Cowan Park facility.
It’s provided Monday, Wednesday and Friday and sessions will be run throughout the summer holidays.
Lessons are FREE for children if they are junior members of Barrhead Community Tennis Club, based at Cowan Park, or on a pay on the day basis for non-members.
Classes are from 10am to noon on the three days and the courts are open to all outwith these times.
Other free tennis facilities are available for use by all within Cowan Park – and these have also seen a boom in interest on the back of Andy’s astonishing achievement.
A partnership between East Renfrewshire Council and the Barrhead Community Tennis Club secured funding to run tennis coaching sessions for children as part of a wider holiday activity programme.
