Fantastic Opportunity for East Renfrewshire groups

Local Voluntary Arts Ambassador, Robert Byng, highlights some opportunities that have arisen for local groups...

Article Source: Voluntary Arts
Last Updated: 27 May 2013 18:20

East Renfrewshire is an amazing region which is full of surprises - the arts in East Renfrewshire are spectacular, especially for such a small region in Scotland, which has the pride of being the birth place or stomping grounds for many nationally acclaimed groups and artists.

Despite the economic times, never before have there been so many opportunities for East Renfrewshire to continue to set its legacy into the world of art and community prosperity.

As your Voluntary Arts Ambassador, I am hopeful that East Renfrewshire can punch hard to exhibit our talents and our positive spirit!

Below I highlight a few opportunities which have arisen:

Established in 1978, the Poetry Society’s National Poetry Competition is one of the world’s biggest and most prestigious poetry contests.

The prizes are £5,000 for the overall winner, £2,000 for the second, £1,000 for the third, with seven commendations of £100. All poems submitted must be previously unpublished.
