Eastwood Park Theatre is an outstanding visual and performing arts venue situated in Eastwood Park, south of Glasgow, fusing the comforts of a modern, revamped facility with an air of retro from the original 1970's building.
The Theatre
Both audience members and performing arts organisations have benefited from a recent £1.75 million refurbishment to the theatre building which now provides state-of-the-art stage facilities, access for performers and patrons using wheelchairs, and a lush modernised, intimate auditorium.
Since re-opening in February 2007, the theatre has accommodated full-scale performing art productions, festivals, author events, film screenings, bands and launch events. The new auditorium can seat up to 338 people and together with the versatile gallery space, art workshop, bar and café area, Eastwood Park Theatre can be transformed to accommodate a full range of events including talks / lectures; debates; PowerPoint presentations; on stage interviews; film screenings; cookery demonstrations; wine / whisky tasting; launches; drink receptions and more.
Eastwood Park Theatre is now a pleasant destination to visit at times other than when attending a performance. Eastwood Park Café is located in the spacious foyer area and spreads out into the bright glass atrium entrance. Serving coffee, baking and snacks, and with the added attraction of free WiFi and art exhibitions, the Theatre stands out in the crowd as a great place to meet, relax and enjoy.
The Gallery
Eastwood Park Gallery is a dynamic space which has hosted a number of first class exhibitions including work from Peter Howson, Stephen Campbell, John Bellany, Ken Currie, Graeme Willcox and many, many more.
The gallery also regularly features work by local groups and schools making it an exciting space to visit and experience a huge range of works by a diverse range of artists.
