Known for his innovative and engaging dance and movement films, we will be showcasing a compilation of Simon’s works titled ‘Dancing on the Inside’.
The event will feature six short films that exemplify Simon’s body of work, followed by the film ‘I hope you don’t mind but what happened to your legs.’ This film was conceptualised by Simon, who lived with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and was often asked about his condition, hence the title. He said of the film, ‘It’s for anyone who has a degenerative condition that is incurable, and, if you think about it, that’s everybody.
Unfortunately, Simon did not live to see the completion of this film. However, recognising its importance, the team decided to bring his vision to life posthumously. We are fortunate to have some of the individuals who worked on this project present at the event to provide context and answer questions.
Simon was an active member of Edinburgh Greens, who are organising the evening. All profits will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
