About Lecture: The Church’s Trouble with Women - from disinheritance to God’s promised community?

2018 is the 50th anniversary of women's ordination in the Church of Scotland and also the 100th anniversary of partial female enfranchisement. The talk will focus on Scotland, in particularly the Presbyterian tradition in the last 150 years.

The talk will be given by Dr Lesley Orr who is engaged in initiatives for active citizenship in Scotland, and recently coordinated commemorations for the 50th anniversary of women’s ordination in the Church of Scotland.

Lesley is an historian, theologian and activist for gender justice, who is on the gender justice policy task group of the World Communion of Reformed Churches, and is a member of the Iona Community.
