Everyone welcome to come join in with the DOC for their Public Festival in the Wheel of the Seasons, bringing Druidry to the Public of the Festival of the Autumn Equinox.
The Autumnal Equinox, is called Alban Elfed or Light of the Water in the Druid tradition. It represents the second of the harvest festivals - this time marking the end of harvest-time, just as Lughnasadh marked its beginning. Again day and night are equally balanced as they were at the time of the Spring Equinox, but soon the nights will grow longer than the days and Winter will be with us. In the ceremony we give thanks for the fruits of the earth and for the goodness of the Mother Goddess.
Meeting around 12 or before at the 13 Maidens Tree Circle up by the Waterfall. Beginning at 1pm. But come earlier to help set up and meet old and new friends and some chat. Drumming in the Ancestors at 12 followed by the Ceremony at 1pm.
If weather is bad and looks like it could be, then you can text or call 07887354011 for any change of plans. Possibly find a lovely Yew grove to hide in. Or go off to the Pond Café by the waterfall where toilets and hot drinks and chat.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Druids of Caledon’s Public Festival of the Autumn Equinox are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
